Sunday Preview ~ March 11, 2010

March 11, 2010

I had my sermon all finished yesterday afternoon, which is earlier than normal for me. Then last night the Lord gave me a dream about a supernatural experience; so I’m back at work today on a revised message for Sunday called “Lessons from the Supernatural” from Mark 5:21-43.

There are two miracles described in this passage. This week we are going to look at the crisis of Jarius. Jarius’ daughter was dying, so in desperation he went to appeal to Jesus to come to his house and heal her.

Crises come to each of us at different times in life. What happens to us in these circumstances shapes our lives, our faith and our future.

Kristina and I took a hike this week to look at the wildflowers blooming in the desert. As we walked, we began talking about some of the experiences that have been the highlights of our lives. Besides special family memories, some of the most significant experiences of my life have been supernatural encounters with the Lord. I want to welcome the ministry of the Holy Spirit in my life as well as in Living Streams.

This Sunday, as we gather to worship, I hope we will encounter the Lord and see truths that will help us understand the supernatural work of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit can take our futile efforts, or our crisis, and transform the situation into a blessing we can celebrate for a lifetime.
